As an ASHI Certified member, I know houses. I have been trained to objectively communicate what a house has to say. To achieve the Certified Member status within the ASHI organization, I have had to demonstrate technical proficiency and report-writing skills, and I am required to earn annual membership renewal credits by attending ASHI approved educational courses. This assures that I stay up to date in both inspection and construction technologies and practices. Without these credits, my membership in ASHI would be terminated.

Be aware!  Organizations do exist, whose only membership requirements are the passing of an online exam and the payment of a fee. Then, abracadabra, these professional wannabes become "certified inspectors" with an official looking logo to display on their website.
